Sir,
I visited in summer 2005 ( KM )...went there by road side in a group travel co I have to share those priceless moments with whole group
One person my friends wife fell ill Mrs. Ushaben Oza .we tried to revive her after KM darshan she became sick and soon we left to loose height as was advised by anaesthetist also who was in other group ..
My self being a medico Dr my self I joined that couple ..
We went to poorang china tibet hospital stayed there for 2 days then via friends help and lord's favour we could join a returning team in helicopter and plane services...poorang china side nepal side it is taklakot .. a river separates them Cooley is req for crossing the border ... tough task ..
Chopper just lands on river bed near by farm ..!!!!! china post is higher up ...
We managed every thing I had experience of all human possibility film like situations ...
from there to simikot in chopper She was lifted from there to nepal ganj direct ..
simikot to nepal ganj in a almost a rural air craft !! That had even bags of vegetables and edible carrying passenger in potlas like
we find in early hrs of bbay train locals... !!! We were treated SUPER HUMANLY on this rescue mission..
Then got her admitted in escort hospital were we could not save her multiple organ failures ...but the trip of all others went on as per sch and she died on the day of them entering in katmandu borders ... almost all members came to pashu pati nath ghaat for agnisanskar as it was a death in foreign country and she was waiting immigrant to usa ...
We did consult the consulate and did some Rs 1800 or so paid of legal receipt as it is a MUST the medical authority of nepal is to be counter signed by the consulate of nepal and they will give another certificate for death that is valid for all legal purposes..
Before that we did approached Nepal royal airlines with neurosurgeon who of Nepal is a world authority ... and managed a six seat space the airline can charge only for 4 maxm in such sick patient... mini ICCU is to be made in aircraft for which they will remove some seats also ...
We managed all these but on 1 pm the flight was scheduled and she on that very night became very serious and we had those last hrs routine day and in early hrs of night she succumbed ... losing by one run ........A challenge ending in defeat ! God has his own scripts.....
Some more highlights during the trip:-
1-when we boarded the chopper at taklakot the pilot said off load 2 passengers as it is over weight by 100kg!!!!!!!
the patient Usha was in and we two were only left out !!
TWO GUJARATI LADIES BEFORE WE REQUEST ANY ONE UNDERSTOOD THE TRAGIC SITUATION AND VOLUTEERED TO GET DOWN
THIS WAS THE BEST EXAMPLE OF SOME HUMANITY SELF EXPERIENCE here is a place where half a bottle of water costs u Indian RS 50 and the chopper was one passenger were many turn by turn at least 3 to 4 freq turn required
and the Cooley charge is 1200 Nepal side 1200 china Tibet side per 40 kg ...
2 We both males were charged 100rs each in that farm of chopper ... but the same lady gave a bucket full of water FREE to that sick woman !!!!!refused to take any thing for that matter !!!!
3 I travelled in advance in a plane from simikot to nepalganj as she was unfit to go in higher altitude she and her husband were in chopper last round .. My self and their group captain travelled in advance to nepalganj in a diff plane to make some further management... where the airport officer said YETI airlines aircraft does not have that pressure regulator in this small ones and one small plane is scheduled for two trips or maxm two small plane will come ... As I was thinking of moving by road route to bihar or india from here ... Sir! Will you believe?!! A JET LINER though not scheduled on that day was sent by company to save two trips and take those travellers' to Katmandu !!!! We could not believe this un expected surprising favour!!!!
3 In simikot airport soldiers helped us to get her down from the chopper chopper went back to takla kot for remaining passenger and as I utilized the time to go to nepalganj in advance ....
4 Seeing a Jet airliner the officer could not control his tears and ran to give me the massage when I was doing some local arrangements for Road Shift ...
5 Every body helped to the fullest
6 Even in hospital she was treated as a super VIP ... I was surprised to see two well-known acclaimed neuro surgeon were attached to that hospital and they all did favour us as far as possible
7 The cook watchman telephone operator junior doctors nursing staff , billing clerks, technicians ,pharmacists all those class-4 , 3 . 2, 1 all worked as a team.
8 I was treated as a VIP Doctor as if I am attached to that hospital ...The Higher authority did allow us to use the morgue up to evening as funeral was only then possible as the other travellers were on the way likely to reach at 6 pm ...
9 The amount of money paid was quiet less then otherwise what it could have been
10 The Royal Nepal airline did not charge us for cancelling that removal seats and extra money of 4 seats payment and 6 seats space for mini ICCU...
11 Before going to KM ..from Kathmandu we did see HIMALAYA RANGE in MOUNTAIN FLIGHT ...
Everest , Gauri Shikhar were seen photographed from pilot cabin !!!!Now a days it is not possible...
12 I intend to put all these on blog too .. Will add photos later on ..Will definitely give to our group..By now more then 500 cds have gone in circulation!!!As it is not having a happy ending I was till to day little reluctant to share further ...
13 I thank GOD for this trip as it has given me one line lesson God writes the script ... has a capacity to change the end ... This had all the 9 rasa of our Shashtra ...tragedy comedy fear passion surprise tension and all ...
